— Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be starring in the upcoming movie Witch Mountain — a remake of the 1975 Escape to Witch Mountain movie. This will actually be the second remake of the film because they did one in 1995 for the Disney Channel. Several news entities are reporting that he is simply in talks to do the movie, but Johnson confirmed to friend Dave Meltzer yesterday that he is doing the movie. The movie will start filming in March.
— WWE announced via press release the winner of WWE’s ‘Biggest Fan’ contest yesterday. John Cena, Batista and Steve Austin among others judged the videos that were sent in by fans for the contest in New York City this past weekend. The winner was Mike Timpson of Los Angeles. He was awarded $25,000 and a special ‘WWE Biggest Fan’ Championship belt. All 15 finalists in the contest were on hand for SummerSlam this past weekend. You can see the winning video at this link. The video didn’t fare too well with website voters — it did a 1 rating out of 5 — but there was a second chance round where WWE officials selected 5 videos from the remaining pool of videos that didn’t make the original top 10 cut. Timpson got another chance through the second round, and ultimately won the contest in NYC when Cena, Batista and Austin took a liking to his video over the others.
