Last night’s NXT averaged 761,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 2.3 percent from the previous week.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT finished 21st on the cable charts last night with a 0.18 rating, down 18.2 percent from last week. It’s the lowest NXT has done in the demo since March 24, which includes two weeks where the show was running head-to-head with AEW Dynamite on Wednesdays.

With the exception of people over 50, NXT’s numbers were down pretty much across the board. The biggest losses were with women in the 18-49 age group, as well as people 18-34. NXT matched its lowest number in people 18-34 since February. Numbers had been up among all WWE shows in that 18-34 category leading into WrestleMania, but they’ve been coming down in recent weeks.

Here’s a look at how NXT fared in the individual demo categories as compared to last week:

People 18-49: 0.18 (down 18.2 percent)
Women 18-49: 0.14 (down 26.3 percent)
Men 18-49: 0.22 (down 12 percent)
People 18-34: 0.08 (down 27.3 percent)
Females 12-34: 0.06 (down 14.3 percent)
Males 12-34: 0.14 (down 6.7 percent)
People 25-54: 0.22 (down 15.4 percent)
People 50+: 0.41 (up 13.9 percent)

Year-over-year, NXT was up 14.8 percent from the same week in 2020, but the 18-49 demo number was exactly the same. That’s a bad sign since NXT was obviously running on the same night as Dynamite a year ago.

NXT actually dropped year-over-year in a few demos, including men 18-49 (down 4.4 percent), people 18-34 (down 20 percent), and females 12-34 (down 25 percent). NXT was even with people 25-54 year-over-year but up 20.6 percent with people over 50. So obviously the show skewed much older for whatever reason this week.

There was an NBA game and an MLB game running opposite NXT last night. There was also a Star Wars special on TBS that did very well in 18-49, finishing third in the demo with a 0.34 rating.
