– Tom Phillips welcomes us to Smackdown returning from his trip “on location” alongside Byron Saxton and Corey Graves.

IN-RING SEGMENT

Shane McMahon made his way to the ring to a great reaction, despite orchestrating an attack on a bunch of innocent, unsuspecting people. He brought up the 25th Anniverary of Raw coming up in a few months, and said that people have always looked down on Smackdown for being the “B-Show”. Shane talked about the relaunch of Smackdown last year, putting together an amazing show led by Daniel Bryan as general manager, but it still wasn’t enough to change people’s perception. So they put together a plan, they invaded Raw and they made a statement. He announces himself as Team Captain for Smackdown at Survivor Series, with Randy Orton qualifying and more names to be added later tonight.

2-out-of-3 Falls Match
BOBBY ROODE vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER

The match was already underway after a commercial break, as Ziggler goes after his opponent with rights and lefts in the corner. They go back and forth with Roode countering a superkick and Ziggler countering the Glorious DDT, both looking for an early fall. The Showoff took over again and tried to slow things down, but the former NXT Champion wouldn’t have it and came back lighting him up with chops in the corner, firing off with a Blockbuster for two. They fought to the outside and started throwing each other into barricades and announce tables, narrowly rolling back in to answer a ten-count. Would both guys get a point in that case? Would nothing happen? Hmm… Ziggler hits a superkick out of nowhere and picks up fall #1.

After a commercial break Roode was back in control, and got a very quick pin after sending his opponent head first into the ring post. Nice back and forth action with both men looking desperately for the final fall. Ziggler got a bit too cocky and talked a little trash, resulting in Roode countering the Fameasser into another rollup for a close nearfall. Glorious DDT attempt is countered and they go back and forth again with pin attempts. Ziggler got a sick DDT but it wasn’t enough. Roode hit a massive Spinebuster out of nowhere, but Dolph turns a third Glorious DDT into the Zig Zag! 1…2…no! The Showoff begins to tune up the band, doing exactly what he’s been complaining about for months now, but Roode finally got him with the Glorious DDT on attempt #4 to win the bout.

Winner: Bobby Roode

After the match Renee Young hits the ring to interview Roode, who is officially announced as a member of Team Smackdown for Survivor Series.
