Ligue 1 side Rennes’ president Nicolas Holveck has made public his ongoing battle with cancer, via a press release on Friday.

Holveck was hospitalised last week, but has announced that he will remain in his role and that the treatment does not require him to take a step back from his position.

“In this difficult period, I remain completely devoted to serving Rennes. I know now more than ever that I can rely in total confidence on our strong teams, both on the sporting side with Technical Director Florian Maurice and manager Bruno Genesio, and on the administrative side with all the people working for the club and the imminent arrival of Olivier Cloarec.”
