Premier League side Sunderland have announced the signing of Rennes’ Swedish international attacker Ola Toivonen on a season-long loan.

There is no option to buy included in the loan deal.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat had the following to say about the player:

“I worked with Ola at PSV so I know him well. He is a national team player with a lot of experience, an attacking midfielder who can score goals and is good in the air – he will bring something different to the team.”
