The much talked about bronze figure, Chhatrapati Shivaji’s memorial statue, whose foundation was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been altered in height to save costs, the Indian Express reported.

The warrior king is now 7.5 metres short in height with a sword measuring 7.5 metres taller than the proposed design. The original design was expected to be the tallest statue in the world with a height of 210 metres to compete with a Buddha statue in China.
