PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a free-to-play Lite version for low spec machines.
PUBG announced that its ‘Lite’ version is for players “who were previously unable to access the game due to the specification requirements.” The open beta began today, with the devs promising exclusive content and quality of life features for PUBG Lite.
Unlike the standard version of the game, PUBG Lite will be free-to-play for its lifetime. You can check out the minimum and recommended specs below.
The PUBG Lite beta currently only features the original map, Erangel, and players will be able to participate in Solo/Duo/Squads in third-person perspective.
Additional game modes and maps will be coming to the beta going forward, so hopefully PUBG Lite players will eventually be able to try out the latest map, the snowy Vikendi 6×6 map.
With PUBG also being available on mobile, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One through Xbox Game Pass, this new version will give even more players a chance to try out the battle royale title.
