After the first official poster of the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie circulated last week, fans have been voicing their opinions about his legs in the image, saying they look too human-like in comparison to the original games.
The official Twitter account for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie has now tweeted a photoshopped image in response to the fan jokes, with Sonic having overly-muscular legs, holding up a sign that says, “Can’t a guy workout? Be back next year.”
The hashtag #RespectTheLegs is also included in the tweet and people have continued with their responses, specifically about the official Sonic account trolling the fandom itself.
Ben Schwartz will be voicing Sonic, with Jim Carrey on as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter in an unknown role.
Sonic the Hedgehog is set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 8, 2019 in the US, Nov. 28 in Australia, and Dec. 26 in the UK.
