The Big Takeaway:
Poor Tyler Breeze has finally been relegated to this show. The Miz was bombastic on co-commentary. Old men Goldust and R-Truth turned in a performance and had fun in the main event.
Show recap:
Tyler Breeze beat Jack Swagger (3:03)
Well it happened quicker than I expected, but it was only a matter of time – with no plans for Tyler Breeze when he was brought up to the main roster, he is now resigned to life on these sorts of shows. I’d say being in NXT would have been better for him, but his goal is always going to be on the main roster.
As they start up, Breeze takes breather, lying across the top ropes. Swagger chases him round the ring and then Breeze uses ropes to escape and the ref breaks them up. They finally lock up and Breeze applies a side headlock on Swagger who outsizes him by some distance. A clothesline from Swagger gets him some momentum and then he runs from corner to corner lariating Breeze. He then clotheslines Breeze and poses for ‘we the people’. Funny line from Miz here to Rich Brennan, “I’m not sure who the people are, but I’m pretty sure you’re not them.”
Breeze is lying prone but has the Swagger Bomb scouted and rolls outside. Swagger follows him out and tackles him to the ground. They go back in and Breeze’s cross body attempt is caught and Swagger maneuvers him into the Patriot Lock. Breeze kicks Swagger away and then dodges his charge so that Swagger is posted. Out of nowhere, Breeze lays him out with the Unprettier. To say this was sudden is an understatement. Unfortunately, this was 3-minute match that went nowhere.
Goldust & R-Truth beat The Ascension (7:30)

Another week, another odd tag team pairing. This time, R-Truth and Goldust, who boast a combined age of 89. They don’t look like it and seem to be enjoying themselves despite their complete stasis in this company. Truth and Viktor start in the ring together. A headlock by Viktor makes Truth pull out, run the ropes and then stop Viktor to slap him. Truth rings the arm and tags in Goldust who puts on a headlock. He clotheslines Viktor, drops to his knee and slaps him before atomic dropping him and dumping him over the top rope. We go to a break with the veterans in front.
Goldust is punching Viktor on the top rope as we return, until Konnor knocks him off and tags in. A limited performer, Konnor stomps Goldust and then mounts him and punches him in the face. He covers him but Goldust kicks out at two and three quarters. Goldust then plays babyface in peril as The Ascension cut the ring in half. Viktor applies a half Boston crab and Konnor leg drops Goldust to the back of the neck, but they can still only get a two count.
We go to a rear chin lock. Goldust finally powers up, dodging Konnor, who is thrown outside. He uses a spinebuster on Viktor and then crawls over to give R-Truth the hot tag. Truth comes in with clotheslines on Viktor, goes for the cover but it is broken up. The Ascension double team Truth but Goldust comes in and powerslams Viktor, so that Truth can hit the Lie Detector on Konnor for the win. Truth and Goldust have a little boogey together at the end and crease up; this was a walk in the park to them.
