An arrest has been made after $5000 raised from the “Wrestling for Autism” event last April in Connecticut was not only not to have been donated, but the check to cover the expenses of the event bounced.
The event was put on by Paradise Alley Pro Wrestling, a wrestling school and independent promotion that is run by former WWF preliminary wrestler Mario Mancini and former WWF and WCW performer Paul Roma. The promoter of this particular event was 35-year-old James Raymond who issued the company a check to cover expenses only for it to bounce. When looked at further, the money raised for the event was found to have never been donated either.
Connecticut Police got involved soon after but it became apparent to them that Raymond was not willing to comply with investigators about the problem. Raymond had disconnected his phone and social media after the case was reported on local TV. Police issued a warrant against him and arrested him on issuing a bad check.

PAPW for its unwitting part in what turned out to be a scam has said it will hold its own benefit event for Autism Services and Resources Connecticut on 6/25 and the event will be held at the East Haven Veterans Memorial Ice Rink.
