— According to WrestleVotes, WWE’s original plan for Survivor Series was to veer away from the usual Raw vs. Smackdown type match-ups but this was before the Roman Reigns leukemia announcement. At the time, the reason the matches weren’t going to be inter-brand is because Vince McMahon, for whatever reason, did not want Roman Reigns facing AJ Styles in a one-on-one match.

— After Reigns’ announcement and subsequent removal from storylines, “creative went upside down” and the Raw vs. Smackdown theme was back in the plans. The originally rumored Team Baron Corbin vs. Team Kurt Angle Survivor Series style match where the winner would get control of Raw is up in the air; WWE also has the opportunity to do a Team Baron Corbin or Kurt Angle vs. Team Shane McMahon as well. With only a couple of weeks’ worth of a short build up until Survivor Series, expect things to move quickly beginning tomorrow on Raw.
