It looks like former WWE Champion Batista is finally returning to the ring. Batista made a surprise appearance during Raw last night and seemingly set up a match for himself at WrestleMania 35. It all went down during the main event of last night’s episode of Raw. Raw was headlined by a party for Ric Flair, who turned 70 years old yesterday. The Raw Superstars all stood on the stage as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon introduced the likes of Shawn Michaels, Ricky Steamboat, Sting, and others to the ring. After the guests were brought in, it was time for Triple H to introduce the two-time WWE Hall of Famer, however, the man of the hour was mysteriously nowhere to be found, but it turns out he was attacked backstage.

Cameras backstage showed Flair beaten and laid out before revealing that Batista was the one who attacked his former Evolution mentor. Batista then faced the camera and called out Triple H by asking if he had “The Game’s” attention. Batista then walked off as Triple H immediately ran backstage to check on Flair. Naturally, fans have wondered if this means that the two wrestling icons will do battle again. A match between the two men at WrestleMania 35 was not confirmed during the segment, but it certainly looks like this is the direction that the company will be headed towards. It will be interesting to see if Batista needs up appearing on Raw next week or on the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view to continue building up the feud.

Batista’s surprise return to Raw last night marks his first onscreen appearance on WWE programming since the 1000th episode of SmackDown from this past October. Fans may remember that a potential match between Triple H and “The Animal” was originally teased during the Evolution reunion segment on that show. If Batista does come back for WrestleMania this year, it will mark his first match with WWE since 2014. It was reported earlier in the month that both WWE and AEW were interested in using Batista, but obviously, he decided to return to WWE. Batista has said before that he would want to wrestle and appear on the road if he did come back to WWE, so be on the lookout for Batista’s next appearance now that he is seemingly back.
