The show kicks off with a footage showing us the arrival of former Impact Global Champion Alberto El Patron from earlier today. The announcers question what he has planned for tonight.
We get a video package hyping every match that we will see on tonight’s PPV as well as interviews from a number of wrestlers about tonight’s PPV.
Jeremy Borash and Josh Matthews welcomes us to tonight’s show as we see a packed house for tonight’s Bound for Glory PPV.

We head to the ring for our first match of the evening, which will feature six talents competing for the Impact Wrestling X-Division Championship, as Trevor Lee, Dezmond Xavier, Garza Jr., Sonjay Dutt, Matt Sydal and Petey Williams kicks off Bound For Glory. They announce that this will be a Lucha style match, which means no tags, but only two people are legal. This is not an elimination match, but instead the first pinfall or submission will end the contest.
Trevor Lee (c) vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. Matt Sydal vs. Petey Williams vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Garza Jr. (6-Way X Division Championship Match): The bell sounds and here we go. It’s apparent early that Petey Williams, who came out to “Oh Canada,” complete with the flag and all, is going to be a fan-favorite here in Ottawa.

Lots of fast-paced, back-and-forth action early on. Xavier hit a Space flying drop that got the fans on their feet. Williams hits a nice pescado into a huracanrana and moments later, there was a sick triple tope spot that got a huge pop from the crowd. The action picks up again as the finish of the match approaches. Williams finally dusts off the classic, hitting his popular Canadian Destroyer finisher on Xavier for a huge pop. Lee threw Williams out of the ring immediately afterwards and stole the pin. Winner and still Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion: Trevor Lee
We move to an unscheduled match that commentary puts off as having huge implications in the X Division. The announcers hype Tyson Dux as the hottest free agent in Canada. He is up next in one-on-one action against Taiji Ishimori, who was brought out by Pro Wrestling NOAH Chairman Masayuki Ushida. It is announced that the winner would earn an X-Division Championship match against Trevor Lee.

Tyson Dux vs. Taiji Ishimori: The bell rings and our second match of the evening is now underway. Tyson Dux hits a side suplex and goes for the pin early on. Out in the crowd we see Laurel Van Ness who walks through the crowd in her usual drunken state. The crowd is basically paying attention to Laurel now as Dux and Ishimori continue to wrestle. Ishimori hits a double stomp and pins dux, but only a two count. Cameras continue to cut back to Laurel as she randomly cheers and generally has no idea what’s going on. Ishimori goes up top and hits a nice 450 splash to pick up the win. With the win, Ishimori vs. Lee for the X-Division Championship is set for the upcoming set of Impact Wrestling television tapings. Winner: Taiji Ishimori

We see footage of Johnny Impact arriving earlier in the evening.
We head backstage where Grado confronts Abyss. Grado sees Abyss and refers to him as Joseph, telling him that they don’t need to do this tonight. Abyss tells him that there was no Joseph, and that Grado was about to feel pain, suffering and carnage before being exported. Grado doesn’t back down, saying that he’s a different Grado and he’s going to beat Joseph’s ass.
Alberto El Patron heads to the ring and says that he is back in Impact Wrestling. He says that something is wrong though and he wants to give a history lesson. He says that ever since he started with the company, people in the back initially said that he is amazing and after giving his heart and soul to the company and to the fans, the cowards in the back ended up screwing him. He says that instead of sticking to the facts with his incident, they listened to reports on the internet and took his title away from him. Alberto continued by saying that nobody cared about his side or his family, nobody came to check on him. Alberto says that he is going to do something later tonight. He then calls Jeremy Borash a backstabber for comments he said to him previously. Alberto slowly heads toward commentary and wonders why Borash never called him. Alberto gets up in his face and tells Borash to admit that he didn’t call or text and he apologizes. Alberto puts out his hand and Borash shakes it. Alberto says he came to Canada to make a statement and he’s going to make that statement with Borash. Teasing a beat down, but then he changes his mind and says tonight is going to be amazing. He then heads to the back.

Grado vs. Abyss (Monsters Ball Match): Before the match, Abyss gets on the mic and says that the crowd can’t help Grado, and that he smells fear and he rips on Grado’s fanny pack. Abyss requests Grado to do some dancing as the crowd pumps him up and he gets it going. Abyss doesn’t like it and Grado kicks him between the legs to start the match. Grado instantly tosses a number of weapons into the ring. Abyss puts a staple in Grado’s head and tosses in a few barbed wire boards. Abyss then lays a board from the apron to the barricade. Grado charges at Abyss and gets chucked into the barricade. Abyss grabs a mystery bag from under the ring and lays out a ton of thumbtacks on the mat.

Grado uses a cheese grater between Abyss’ legs and throws it at his head. Grado hits a garbage can to Abyss over and over. Grado climbs to the top rope, but Abyss throws a garbage can at him and he flies down and through that barbed wire board that Abyss put out. Abyss brings out the spike board, but Grado hits Abyss’ head with a kendo stick. Laurel Van Ness is back again and this time sitting on some guy’s lap. Grado avoids getting choke-slammed onto the barbed wire. Grado kicks Abyss down on it instead. He then lays another board on top of Abyss and heads to the top rope. Grado hits a terrible looking splash as he landed more on Abyss’ legs. Grado goes for a pin, but only a two count. Laurel is now at ringside and ends up low-blowing Grado. Laurel plants Grado face first on the mat. She then wails away on him before the lights suddenly go out. Lights come up and Rosemary is in the ring. She mists Laurel right in the face and then sees Abyss. Abyss goes for a chokeslam, but she tries to reason with Abyss and it works for a second. She goes to mist Grado, but he ducks and she hits Abyss. Blinded, Abyss choke-slams her on some thumbtacks. Grado with the roll-up, but only a two count, but they mistakenly ring the bell. Abyss with an awful looking Black Hole Slam onto some barbed wire, pins Grado and gets the win. Winner: Abyss

We head backstage where McKenzie Mitchell is with Team Impact. Eddie Edwards says that they are going to leave with the W. Storm was crazy loud and the mic was breaking up throughout his whole promo. EC3 says that he will see them out there and he walks off.
Team Impact (Eddie Edwards, EC3, and James Storm) vs. Team AAA (El Hijo del Fantasma, Pagano, and Texano): The match starts off with Edwards and Fantasma as Edwards is able to get the best of their initial exchange. Edwards goes to tag out, but EC3 didn’t seem to be that interested. Storm comes in, as does Texano. Texano is able to drop Storm and he looks for a pin, but only a two count. Edwards comes in with the blind tag and he elbow drops the back of Texano, he then goes for a pin, but only a two count. Edwards puts the beat-down to Team AAA by elbowing both Pagano and Fantasma down, but they pull him down to the mat. Team AAA triple-stomps Edwards as the referee is distracted with Team Impact.
Pagano beats up Edwards, but he is able to get away and looks to tag out, but EC3 just walks away. Storm gets back in again and fights off Fantasma, and then Texano on his own. Storm pins Fantasma, but only a two. Storm goes up top, but gets tripped up. Team AAA with more stomping as the referee continues to really pay attention to Team Impact. Suddenly, EC3 shows some concern about the match and goes to work on Texano and Fantasma. EC3 hits Team AAA with some multiple strikes and some corner splashes, then he drops Texano on his own partner. EC3 gets kicked out of the ring and Fantasma looks to fly. Edwards knocks him to the floor and Edwards hits a suicide dive, but he clears out EC3 in the process. Texano flips over the top on three guys. Storm looks to fly, but Pagano stops that and Pagano gets awkwardly monkey flipped over the top and down to the group. Storm figures why the hell not and climbs up to the top rope, he then front flips on everybody. We see a huge tower of power with five people and Storm hits a elbow drop off the top. Now everyone is down.
Edwards and Fantasma go at it on the apron as Edwards gets a package piledriver and is out on the floor. Pagano and Texano look to finish off EC3, but EC3 hits double low-blows and double one-percenters. EC3 tells Storm to take Pagano’s head off. Storm hits a Last Call Super Kick, then goes for a pin for the win. Winners: Team Impact (EC3, James Storm, Eddie Edwards)

Dave is put on a table and Santana starts to climb up a scaffolding and gets dropped down through the table. That is probably a 15-20 foot drop. The crowd chants “we can’t see s—-” to “holy s—” in seconds. Back near the ring, Jake is put on a ladder that’s going across the apron and the barricade. He wakes up and launches a chair at Ortiz. Jake sets up four chairs, he climbs up to the table rope and hits a superplex, but he puts himself through the chairs. Ortiz and Santana are together in the ring now as they pile a ton of chairs on each other. They hit Jake with a Blockbuster/Powerbomb combo on the chairs, then LAX goes for a pin attempt, but Dave is able to break up the pin.

Lashley throws Moose up against the cage. Bonnar hits a nasty powerbomb on Lashley. King Mo busted open from taking a shot against the steel cage. Every time King Mo and Bonnar attempted to face off, they would get separated by their tag partners. They finally get to face off, Bonnar got in a kimura submission, but Mo was able to work out of it. Bonnar looked for a pin, but gets only a two count. The Crowd starts up a “GSP” chant while Bonnar and Mo basically have a MMA fight as Lashley and Moose are completely out of it.

We head backstage where we see McKenzie talking with Johnny Impact and asks him what’s going through his mind as he goes into the main event. Johnny says that despite the message that they tried to send on Impact, all of that was a mistake, because he is still standing here. For the past 15 years he has invested in himself and all of the sacrifices he’s made. His heroes were Macho Man and his Dad, and he can’t wait to see his Dad when he comes back as champion. Johnny says all of that hard work will pay off when he wins the title.
