During PlayStation’s State of Play, it was revealed that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will also feature remastered content from Crash Team Racing’s sequel, Crash Nitro Kart.

Crash Nitro Kart, which was released in 2003 on PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox and Game Boy Advance, featured 13 tracks which will all be remastered for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, as well as the title’s karts, battle arenas and battle modes.

In our review of Crash Nitro Kart back in 2003, we said that while there is a lot to enjoy, it feels very similar to Crash Team Racing and doesn’t do a lot to evolve the formula set by those that came before it.

We recently got hand-on with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, albeit without the newly announced Crash Nitro Kart content, and we believe that this remastered collection “manages to find that distinct groove between retro and cutting edge.”

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was announced at last year’s The Game Awards and it will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 21, 2019.

Many are excited for this remaster, and there are those who even believe that Crash Team Racing is the superior kart racing game when put against the other juggernaut of the genre, Mario Kart.
