Don’t expect to see Cyberpunk 2077 at The Game Awards this week – CD Projekt RED says it won’t be showing more until the developer’s ready.
Community lead Marcin Momot took to Twitter to quell any undue excitement:
With the announcements we will see being kept (mostly) tightly under wraps, we’re currently hearing more about the games that won’t be at The Game Awards. Last week we learned that Rocksteady won’t be showing off its next game either (while also stating that it wouldn’t be a Superman title).
One game that seems likely to be announced is Alien: Blackout, a mysterious new project possibly being teased by none other than Hideo Kojima.
The Game Awards take place on Thursday, December 6, and you can watch it all right here with us. Here are our five predictions for other announcements that might come at the show (yes, we realise that the Rocksteady one is in there).
For such an enormous project, we’ve learned startlingly little about Cyberpunk 2077 so far. An extended gameplay video went some way towards giving an overview of the game, but details have been pretty scarce since then.
The last major information drop involved CD Projekt dropping a few hints about the game’s approach to hacking.
