Raw tonight should do a big number even with the tough competition including the Republican convention, largely the Thunderdome should help ratings for at least a few more shows, but more, the day after SummerSlam is usually going to be the biggest number of the summer. Keith Lee debuts. The show opens with Drew McIntyre, likely an angle to build next week’s PPV show. Mark Henry will referee a Bobby Lashley vs. Apollo Crews arm wrestling match. There will be a Kevin Owens show with Aleister Black and Ivar vs. Dolph Ziggler on Raw Underground.
SummerSlam was No. 9 in Google searches yesterday with 200,000. That indicates far lower interest than any year in history. Usually one would expect at least 500,000 and perhaps even 1 million.
