Davey Richards is officially returning to pro wrestling.
Global Syndicate Wrestling announced this afternoon that Richards would be returning to pro wrestling for their promotion, appearing on their GSW Catalyst event that will air on May 22 on Fite TV. No opponent has been named.
PWInsider reported on April 6 that Richards was close to agreeing to a deal with GSW to make a return to wrestling.
Richards has not wrestled since 2017, when he lost the CZW World title to Shane Strickland (now Isiah “Swerve” Scott in WWE) in a four-way that also involved Joe Gacy and Lio Rush. He had been working CZW, Impact, and the independents prior to his departure from wrestling.
He is best known for his runs in Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Impact Wrestling. He is a former ROH World Champion and also held the IWGP Junior Tag Team titles twice with Rocky Romero. He also regularly teamed with Eddie Edwards as The American Wolves in ROH and Impact.
