It’s no secret that Ronda Rousey has been training at the WWE Performance Center in recent weeks and there’s even been talk of her doing something at the Royal Rumble. However, her friends might not be involved as originally rumored.

Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are no longer doing professional wrestling training. They had been training in different cities over the last couple of months but, as first reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like the plans for them to wrestle may have been scrapped. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t be involved with WWE in some form.

Meanwhile, Shayna Baszler will be getting a big push in NXT. So, what’s next? The prevailing rumor in WWE is that Rousey will be wrestling in a singles match at Mania. She is still training at the Performance Center in Orlando. However, there might be an issue that could prevent her from appearing in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting Ronda Rousey is currently filming on the new Mark Wahlberg film called Mile 22 and the plan is to do a majority of the filming in Columbia after the holidays are over. It is reported that the filming would lapse over the January 28th date of the Royal Rumble making filming pretty difficult to pull off. Therefore it would make a Royal Rumble appearance from Rousey unlikely.
Although things could be worked out at the last minute, the word at this moment is WWE has merely expressed interest in Rousey but no deal has been signed. Therefore she hasn’t blocked off any time for WWE and isn’t likely to show up at the Royal Rumble unless a deal can be signed beforehand.
