2016 NFCA All-American Teams

Headlining the first team are five 2016 Gatorade National Players of the Year from the states of Michigan, Texas, New Jersey, Alabama and Oregon.

Making up the first-team pitching rotation are St. Mary Catholic Central High School’s Meghan Beaubien, Frisco High School’s (Texas) Maddie MacGrandle, Mt. St. Dominic Academy’s (N.J.) Kelsey Oh and Curry High School’s (Ala.) Ashlee Swindle. Posing a dual threat at the plate and in the circle, these four standouts all reaped their respective state’s Gatorade Player of the Year honor.

Beaubien, a junior, is a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year and earned her second All-American nod after being named to the second team in 2015. This spring she led her program to a Division 3 state championship by tossing back-to-back perfect games in the semifinals and championship. The hard-throwing righty went 20-1 in the circle with a miniscule 0.25 ERA, 12 shutouts and 352 strikeouts to just 15 walks in 168.1 innings of work. She limited her opponents to a .096 batting average and surrendered just one home run all season. At the plate, Beaubien came in with a .478 average, seven doubles, four home runs, 17 RBI and 37 runs scored.

MacGrandle capped off her junior campaign with a 31-3 mark, 1.07 ERA and 393 strikeouts in 213 innings. The southpaw posted nine shutouts and held her opposition to a .159 batting average. An Area Player of the Year and District 9-5A Most Valuable Player, MacGrandle put up powerful numbers at the plate. Helping Frisco to a 5A semifinal appearance, she batted .533 with 57 hits, 17 doubles, 10 long balls, 57 RBI, a .963 slugging percentage and .613 on-base percentage.

The third junior pitcher on the squad is two-time first-team All-American and Gatorade Player of the Year Oh.
