British fashion designer Giles Deacon is the special star at the fifth edition of the Pitti W Woman Precollection event. The event is taking place in Florence on 12-15 January 2010 coinciding with the Pitti Immagine Uomo 77 fair.

“I am delighted to be asked by such a prestigious organisation to take part in the internationally acclaimed event, especially after being
awarded the ANDAM prize and holding my first show in Paris. The Pitti event allows me to continue to reach a wide international audience,” says Giles Deacon.

The designer is known for his signature prints, and he is an alumni of Saint Martin’s. In 2004 he launched his first collection after having worked at Bottega Veneta and the Gucci Group. In 2004 Giles received the ‘Best New Designer’ award at the British Fashion Awards and in November 2006 was awarded British Designer of the Year. Three years later he took home the ANDAM award, given by the French Ministry of Culture and the Pierre Berge Foundation, and partnering with Castor, Giles showed his Spring / Summer 2010 collection in Paris.
