Hulkamania may soon be running wild in WWE once again, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Hulk Hogan is having talks about a possible return to WWE. Hogan has reportedly been speaking with Vince McMahon personally about coming back to the company, likely in a similar Ambassador role that he was in during his 2014-2015 stint with the company. Sportskeeda had noted previously that Hulk Hogan’s Beach Shop in Orlando, Florida had been stocking up on official WWE merchandise, but that may not necessarily mean anything. However, a long amount of time since his incident from a few years ago has gone by, and it looks like WWE may be willing to forgive the Hulkster.
Hogan has had a rocky few years to say the least. The straw that broke the camel’s back, however, was when Hulk Hogan was caught using a number of racial slurs on his leaked sex tape. After suing Gawker Media and Bubba the Love Sponge, the ones who helped release the tape, Hogan managed to win over $100 million dollars from the court. He eventually decided to settle with Gawker though for $31 million dollars, but the company did cease operations after the fact. During all of this, WWE fired Hogan in 2015 and severed all ties with him. He was taken down (but not officially removed) from the WWE Hall of Fame page on their website, they did not reference him on television, and they discontinued producing his merchandise as well.
As of right now though, the Wrestling Observer is the only source that has reported on this information, so take it with a grain of salt. We will keep you updated if this story should develop into something bigger. Hogan could still provide a ton of nostalgia for fans and would likely be received well upon returning to the company. It would be interesting to see how fans would react to Hogan after all of the controversy that has surrounded him these past few years. Then again, you know what they say: “When it comes crashing down and it hurts, you’ve gotta take a stand, it don’t help to hide.” and sometimes “You’ve got to be a man, and you can’t let it slide.”
