James Storm has officially parted ways with Impact Wrestling for good. The wrestler had been working for Impact for a number of years, but he left the company late last year. His final match with the company aired on television this past Thursday night. James Storm was defeated by American Top Team’s Dan Lambert in his final match with the company. His departure is due to a recent decision by Impact to cut roster members with big money contracts. Storm was marked as a “TNA Original” due to his long tenure with Impact, but now that his time has officially come to an end, several fans have wondered what is next for “the Cowboy.” We’ll find out as the year rolls on.
NXT just had their first set of tapings in Atlanta, Georgia. The shows are set to air for the remainder of January on the WWE Network, and the shows will reveal the remainder of the card for NXT Takeover: Philadelphia. However, that may not be the only exciting news to come out of those tapings, because it has been reported that a few interesting names are backstage for the tapings. PWInsider reports that rumored future NXT star Candice LeRae, as well as Mae Young Classic star Dakota Kai, and Lio Rush (who had been off of the road until recently) were backstage for the tapings. Perhaps we’ll be seeing these three on NXT within the next few weeks.
Ring of Honor has been doing some of its best business in a while, and one reason for that is because of their incredibly talented roster. One wrestler on the roster that has become beloved by fans is the Beer City Bruiser. It had been reported on some areas that his contract with the promotion was set to expire very soon, but Ring of Honor fans have no reason to worry, because the Bruiser has confirmed that he will be sticking with ROH. He took to Twitter yesterday to inform fans that he has indeed re-signed to stay on with the promotion, however, he also confirmed that he will not be taking as many independent bookings in 2018.
It’s official, I have re-signed with @ringofhonor wrestling. I will be taking limited independent bookings.
