Speaking in a press conference on Saturday ahead of Lyon’s match vs Angers, Belgian central defender Jason Denayer updated the media on the status of his contract extension talks with Les Gones, with his current deal due to expire in June 2022.

“We are in good discussions with Lyon. We are in the process of trying to come to an agreement on the majority of the points. It is advancing very well. I have always said that I feel super good at the club. It would be with great pleasure that I remain here. This is the club that enabled me to find stability and had faith in me. It is completely normal for me to reciprocate that.”
