WWE Superstar Glenn “Kane” Jacobs’ run for Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee could have ended last night, but the former WWE Champion was able to win the primary by just 17 votes. While this is definitely a major victory for Kane, his political career could still be in jeopardy. ABC affiliate WATE 6 has now noted that The Knox County Election Commission will be looking over some of the provisional ballets. As a result, the actual election results will not be made available to the public until sometime next week. There is a chance that Kane could lose the election now, but the results should be revealed in just a few more days. As of right now, Kane is scheduled to take part in the general election this fall.
One of the most popular tag teams on Smackdown could be coming to an end very soon. Rusev and Aiden English have undoubtedly won the support from the fans in WWE ever since they’ve started teaming up, but it looks like a possible split may already be in the works. Rusev’s wife Lana returned to Smackdown last night during a segment featuring Rusev and English. After English left the room, Lana seemed to indicate that something is holding Rusev back from being successful in WWE before glancing at English. Rusev and Aiden English have been teaming up together as part of the Rusev Day tag team since late last year and have become one of the most popular teams in all of WWE.

Backlash will be taking place this Sunday night and it will feature five different championship matches featuring competitors from Raw and Smackdown. Shinsuke Nakamura challenges AJ Styles for the WWE Championship once again. The Miz faces Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, and Randy Orton will challenge Jeff Hardy for the United States Championship. Both women’s titles from Raw and Smackdown will be on the line as well. Despite the number of title matches set to take place during the show, Cageside Seats reports that none of the championships that will be defended on the show are scheduled to change hands at the moment.
