The Sweet Profits were interviewed backstage following their brawl with The Viking Raiders on the May 15 edition of NXT.
The match didn’t begin as a brawl, but that’s exactly what it became when The Forgotten Sons, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, crashed the party. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins had the chance to win the NXT Tag Team Championships from Erik and Ivar, but that came to an end following the outside interference.
Ford and Dawkins were not unhappy in the interview, but they made it clear that it’s not over between them and the tag team champions.
Many fans believe that The Street Profits will become the new top dogs of NXT’s tag division now that The Viking Raiders have joined Monday Night Raw. The duo has been splitting their time between both brands but it’s only a matter of time until they drop the NXT Tag Team titles.
Ford and Dawkins are perhaps the best candidates to take the reins. But fans shouldn’t sleep on The Forgotten Sons, who went all the way to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It’s obvious that WWE has faith in them and the same is true of Lorcan and Burch.
A Fatal 4-Way or Tag Team Elimination Match is likely in the cards for Takeover: XXV on June 1. But that has not been made official by WWE at this point.
