L’Équipe report this morning that Lyon remain confident of their ability to land Colombian international central defender Yerry Mina.

The player has told Lyon that he wants to play in the Champions’ League, an advantage that OL have over Everton, who are also taking concrete measures to try to sign Mina.

Lyon hope that they will be able to play on the good relationship that they have with Barcelona, having sold Samuel Umtiti there last summer, to then be able to buy the player from the Catalan club for €25m.

Les Gones continue to pursue Benfica’s 21-year-old central defender Ruben Dias, who they proposed €30m to last week. However, the situation is not expected to decant until after Benfica’s Champions’ League qualifying matches against Fenerbahce, the second leg of which concluded on the 14th of August.
