LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced that 165 student-athletes from 66 programs have received 2017 NFCA NAIA All-Region accolades.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s six regions with first and second-team recognition. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA NAIA All-American squads.
2017 All Region Teams
No. 1 Oklahoma City out of the Southwest Region and No. 15 Vanguard (West) led the way with six first-team selections. No. 4 Marian University (Ind.) from the Great Lakes and No. 21 Grand View University (Central) earned five nods. Leading the way in the East Region with five selections was No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett College, while in the Midwest No. 3 Columbia College (Mo.) posted five first-team selections.
A total of 33 All-Region athletes will compete in the NAIA Softball World Series beginning May 26, in Clermont, Fla.
The 2017 NFCA NAIA All-America teams will be announced on Monday, June 5, via NFCA.org.
