LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After guiding Rock Valley College to a 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DIII National Championship, head coach Darin Monroe, assistant coaches Chad Kulpa, D.J. Johnson and Katie Dixon, along with student assistants Bailey Craig and Henry Hansen have been named the 2015 NFCA NJCAA DIII National Coaching Staff of the Year, announced on Tuesday.

A 3-2 win over No. 2 Herkimer Community College in the NJCAA DIII title game gave top-seeded RVC its second straight national championship on May 16 at McQuillan Sports Complex in Rochester, Minn. In a rematch of 2014, the Golden Eagles scored three runs in the fourth inning and held off the Generals’ late push for the one-run victory. During its run to the championship, RVC defeated Allegheny County-South (18-0), St. Cloud Tech (4-1) and Herkimer (2-1).

Highlighted by a 32-game season-ending winning streak, the Golden Eagles finished with a school-record 52-5 (.912) mark under the direction of Monroe and his staff. Prior to the national tournament, RVC cruised to a Region 4 title by outscoring its three opponents 47-6, including 19-5 triumph over Harper College in the championship game. Monroe, in just four seasons, has posted a 156-44 (.780) record at the helm of the Golden Eagles and along with his staff earned a second consecutive NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year honor.
