The Supreme Court might have reserved its verdict on Section 377 but transgenders of Punjab might not get any relief anytime soon. Despite SC’s orders to rehabilitate the LGBTQ community, these directives remain only on paper, alleges a transgender from Ludhiana, Mohini Mahant.
Mahant was abandoned by her parents when she was only thirteen because they had problems with her sexual orientation, reported the Indian Express.

Mahant, is the first transgender to be selected as a member of a bench of National Lok Adalat in Punjab Saturday. Apart from being a panelist, she also has a postgraduate degree in public administration and a masters degree in social work.
