Earlier today, it was confirmed that former pro wrestler Pedro Morales passed away. The legendary wrestler competed in numerous promotions throughout his career in the 1950s and 60s, and he continued to wrestle into the 1970s and 80s as well. The Puerto Rican wrestler was perhaps best known for his run in the WWF (now WWE), where he managed to capture the world championship for a time. Morales was honored with an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 1995. WWE put out a statement earlier today saying that Morales died at the age of 76 before extending condolences to his family. Since the tragic news was broken, numerous wrestlers and industry professionals have paid tribute to Morales online.
Pro wrestlers of the past and present have both come together to honor and celebrate the life and accomplishments of Pedro Morales today. Fellow former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik called Morales “one of the best ever.” The Singh Brothers remembered some advice that Bret Hart had told them about the business which came directly from Morales. Other wrestlers who have said some words regarding Pedro Morales today have included the Blue Meanie, Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray, Jerry Jarrett, Konnan, and a couple others. Perhaps a tribute video of some sort will air during WWE’s SmackDown broadcast tonight. Check out what wrestlers are saying about Pedro Morales in the tweets posted below:

After Raw ended last night, WWE streamed the final episode of the Edge & Christian Show’s second season. It’s always great to see these two former Tag Team Champions reunite on WWE programming, but it was recently revealed that there were plans for them to team up together in the ring again back in 2011. According to Christian during an interview with WrestleTalk, Edge was supposed to drop the World Heavyweight Championship to Alberto Del Rio shortly after WrestleMania 27. From there, E&C were set to reunite and eventually feud with each other. In the end, Edge’s sudden forced retirement from the ring that year due to injuries caused the company to abandon the idea, and Edge retired as champion.
