WWE has added a new match to the lineup for Wednesday’s episode of NXT.
Rhea Ripley vs, Toni Storm will take place on NXT this coming Wednesday (December 16). The two are facing off after Ripley saved Ember Moon from an attack by Storm on NXT this week.
Ripley and Storm were on opposite sides of the women’s WarGames match at TakeOver: WarGames this past Sunday. Team Candice (Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez & Storm) defeated Team Shotzi (Shotzi Blackheart, Moon, Ripley & NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai) when Gonzalez pinned Shirai after powerbombing her through a ladder.
Gonzalez was also victorious on this week’s NXT, defeating Moon in the main event. Storm came out to attack Moon after, but Ripley came down to the ring and pulled Moon to safety before the attack could happen. Ripley and Gonzalez then had a staredown.
Storm had brawled with Shirai earlier on this week’s NXT. Storm rolled out of the ring when Shirai was going for a moonsault, but Moon then attacked Storm and threw her back in the ring so Shirai could hit the moonsault.
Here’s the updated lineup for Wednesday’s NXT:
Number one contender’s match: Kyle O’Reilly vs. Pete Dunne (winner challenges for Finn Balor’s NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil on Wednesday, January 6)
Rhea Ripley vs. Toni Storm
Leon Ruff & Kushida vs. NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory
Karrion Kross returns to in-ring action
