Shirai and Kairi Hojo (who WWE renamed as Kairi Sane) were first contacted by WWE almost two years ago, but Shirai’s situation was complicated after it was discovered that she had a heart condition that was detected when WWE put her through their physical testing. After getting a clean bill of health since then, the path is clear for her to debut in WWE which looks like it will happen later this year.
