WWE NXT RESULTS (2/19): WINTER PARK, FL.

A video package is shown from last week’s NXT. We pan the crowd of the arena as the fans chant, “NXT! NXT!” beginning the first NXT show since NXT TakeOver: Portland.

The Undisputed Era In The Ring, Velveteen Dream Cuts In

Undisputed Era’s music sounds as Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong, and NXT Champion Adam Cole make their way to the stage, then make their way down the ramp together. Mauro makes note that Adam Cole reign as champion is now 263 days.

Adam Cole begins speaking to the fans in the crowd. Cole stresses to the fans in the crowd that “obsession will never defeat destiny” as he warns that Undisputed Era will continue to set the example in NXT.

The voice of Velveteen Dream can be heard over the speakers, though he’s nowhere in sight. The arena dims, leaving a light purplish-blue hue of light only. Strong’s eyes fill with rage as a voice begins to speak…

“Tonight, you have the chance to prove something. Leave your boys at home, and prove you can be a man. Do it for Marina, because when we do it tonight… let’s make it a night just for us.” Dream ends his statement and the lights return.

WWE NXT Cruiserweight Championship Match
Lio Rush vs. Jordan Devlin (c)

Out first is Lio Rush as his music sounds in the arena. Rush makes his way down the ramp and poses as he makes his way into the ring. Next “The Irish Ace” Jordan Devlin’s music sounds as Devlin walks down the ramp and looks to fans in the front row who are giving him a “thumbs down” and booing him.

Devlin joins Rush inside the ring as the match is formally announced. The bell rings, and the match begins. The commentators say Rush better come into this match with a game plan. Rush with a Roundhouse Kick attempt, Devlin slides backwards to avoid the hit. We go to commercial.

A malfunction at the junction as we return from commercial, a mid-air collision as both contenders had the same idea as they went for the Cross-Body at the same time. Rush to the top turnbuckle, flies through the air, hitting a Cross-Body onto Devlin in the center of the ring. Elevator Back Drop by Devlin onto Rush, followed by a cover attempt. Rush throws up his shoulder just in the nic of time to keep this match going.

Rush covers Devlin for a pin attempt. Devlin with a punt to the face of Rush, throwing him to the outside of the ring. Cork Screw by Rush as he jumps over the ropes onto Devlin as he returns to the inside of the ring. Devlin struggling back to his feet as Rush jumps off the top once again, having to roll through as nobody home.

Rush goes for another pin attempt. Devlin back to his feet, Standing Spanish Fly for the counter. Devlin covers for the pin, Rush rolls over and covers Devlin. Back and Forth action between the two inside the ring. Rush finally goes to the top turnbuckle, Devlin following.

Rush hits the Avalanche Poisonrana on Devlin, going for the pin, Devlin kicks out. Rush hits the Come Up off the ropes. Rush back to the top, going for his finisher The Final hour, Devlin side steps just in time, nobody home. Devlin with a Headbutt, followed by the Devlin Side Suplex which connects on Rush.

Devlin covers Rush, the referee counts, one two three, the bell rings. A victory for the NXT Champion, Jordan Devlin.

Backstage Interview With Dakota Kai

We join Jon Quasto backstage as he stands with Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Quasto asks what was going through Raquel’s mind as she decided to help Dakota win this past Sunday at Takover: Portland during the first ever Women’s Street Fight match between Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox.

According to Raquel, it seems Tegan has had every opportunity handed to her while Dakota was pushed to the back burner every time. Raquel shares that she knows what that feels like because she sat at the PC (WWE Performance Center) and that at War Games Dakota was looked over and treated as an outcast.

Dakota tells Raquel she proved that she had her back at TakeOver: Portland, and now she has Raquel’s. Dakota tells Raquel that together, they are untouchable.

With that statement, in comes NXT General Manager William Regal as he congratulates Dakota on the Takeover win and being untouchable. Regal goes on to tell Dakota that she will be facing off against Tegan in two weeks, and there will be no outside interference as this will be a Steel Cage match.

(We go to commercial as Tommaso Ciampa is seen walking the hallway backstage.)

Backstage With Rhea Ripley

As we come back from commercial, Rhea Ripley is explaining what happened directly following her match with Bianca Belair at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Rhea Ripley admits she was caught from behind by Charlotte Flair, but that won’t happen again. Ripley looking forward to showing Flair a thing or two at WrestleMania 36.

Tommaso Ciampa Addresses NXT TakeOver: Portland

As we return to the inside of the arena, music sounds for Austin Theory as he makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring. Theory is posing inside the ring as Tommaso Ciampa walks down the ramp as well and begins pacing ringside. “Psycho Killer!” is heard from the audience. A chant begins from the fans, “Daddy’s Home! Daddy’s Home!”.

Ciampa grabs a mic and begins speaking in the center of the ring. Ciampa begins, “NXT TakeOver Portland…” Theory walks up to Ciampa semi-confused but attempting to assert dominance. Ciampa doesn’t raise an eyebrow, feeling Theory’s presence close to him as Ciampa says, “Not tonight. Not tonight…” The referee touches the arm of Theory and motions to let Ciampa speak.

Ciampa continues speaking, saying that part of this was his fault and he should have seen this coming. Ciampa says he was too focused on Goldie and stopped paying attention of his surroundings. Ciampa stopped listening to that voice inside his head.

Ciampa continues if one thing goes hand in hand with Ciampa and the NXT Championship, and that is Johnny Gargano. The crowd begins chanting, “Johnny Sucks! Johnny Sucks!” Ciampa says he’s not asking himself why, he knows why.

Austin Theory walks up behind Ciampa, Ciamps decks Theory, knocking him to the mat without saying a word. Ciampa doesn’t skip a beat as he continues, “If one thing is very clear, to get my life back… there can be NO Johnny Gargano, in NXT.” Ciampa drops the mic and rolls out of the ring.

Ciampa goes to walk away and Theory goes running at Ciampa who lifts his boot for a massive kick to the face of Theory. Ciampa once again goes to walk away, only to turn around and continues to beat the hell out of Theory. Wrong place, wrong time. We go to commercial.

As we come back from the commercial, a quick video package is shown with clips from the Johnny Gargano vs. Finn Balor match at NXT TakeOver: Portland following a quick comment from Finn Balor.

Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans

Out first is Raul Mendoza along with his tag-team partner Joaquin Wilde. Both men make their way down the ramp and enter the ring where they remove their excess gear as they begin to pose inside the ring. Next out are James Drake and Zack Gibson of The Grizzled Young Veterans. The bell rings and the match begins.

To start things off in this tag-team match up, Gibson and Wilde lock up and begin a series of quick moving action. Gibson dominates the beginning of this match as he makes the tag to Drake. Drake comes in and with some south paw action, sends Gibson to the outside of the ring.

Drake picks up Wilde and rolls him back into the ring. Wilde gets covered in the center of the ring once again, kicking out at two. With a series of Forearms, Wilde keeps Drake at bay until he finally tags in Mendoza. Mendoza comes in fresh and quick. Mendoza hits a Spinning Back Kick, then a Springboard Missile Drop Kick.

The announcers note that it is “fuego” in the arena. Drake steps over Mendoza, kicking Wilde off the apron. After a fury of strikes, another tag is made. Gibson re-enters the ring as they double team Mendoza with Double Knees to the chest. Ticket to Mayhem for the three count.

Winners: The Grizzled Young Veterans

After the Match

“The land of the free, and the home of the brave!” Gibson begins, as he stands in the center of the ring with Drake. “Nahh… the land of the neck-beards and the home of the ignorant yanks!” The crowd begins booing the two brits.

You Deserve It!” Riddle announces that the celebration will continue as he explains how The BroserWeights may have partied too hard in Portland, OR… even Stallion Pete.

Riddle continues to make jokes, mentioning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Cup trophy perhaps partied too hard too as it’s been suspended for 30 days as it failed the WWE Wellness Policy exam. As Riddle goes to speak once again, music interrupts and Riddle’s face goes a bit more serious.

Keith Lee vs. Kona Reeves

NXT North American Champion Keith Lee makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring as his entrance music blares over the speakers in the arena. Commentator’s remind viewers this is a non-title match. Mauro sets up a video package showing WWE’s Backstage debut from last night’s show.

Lee smiles and motions along as the fans in the arena begin chanting loud enough to drown out his entrance music as they chant, “All Bask In His Glory! All Bask In His Glory!” Lee lifts the mic to his lips and as he’s about to get out his first word, music interrupts, causing Lee’s eyes to shift to the top of the ramp.

Kona Reeves makes his way out and heads down the ramp, entering the ring with the NXT North American Champ. Reeves requests a microphone. As Reeves goes to turn around, Lee knocks him out cold with a Pounce. Lee looks to the referee.

“You can go ahead and ring the bell” to which the referee complies, signaling for the bell. Reeves attempts to hold his own for about 4 and a half seconds, until Lee grabs a hold of him. Lee lands the Big Bang Catastrophe for the super easy pin and three count for the win.

Winner: Keith Lee

After the Match

Lee celebrates in the ring as we go to replays. Dominik Dijakovic enters the ring and while he’s sorry, he’s not ready to move on. Double D tries to convince Lee that he knows he should have won at TakeOver, followed by a slew of “if’s and’s and but’s”… excuse after excuse.

Lee finally interrupts him and says the fact is, he won. He is the NXT North American champion. Lee lifts his championship belt high above his heads for a loud pop! The fans in the arena begin to chant, “Fight Forever! Fight Forever!”

Lee lets Double D know that he’s always up for a good challenge, telling him that if he can talk Regal into it, then they can fight forever. With that, Lee throws the mic and exits the ring to his music.

Kayden Carter vs. Chelsea Green

As we come back from the commercial break, this women’s match up is announced and scheduled for one fall. Kayden Carter’s music hits first as Carter makes her way out. Robert Stone comes out next to the stage, representing The Robert Stone Brand as promised to be launched again tonight. Stone introduces Chelsea Green as he calls her the new “face of the NXT women’s division”. The crowd still a bit confused, but moving right along.

The referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and the match begins. Carter, on the offense per-usual, wastes no time as she goes after Green. Green goes for a slam but Carter blocks, rolling her for a pin attempt of her own. Carter kicks out at two.

Stone watches closely from ringside as Carter mounts Stone and is once again on the offensive. Carter gets two pin attempts in a short period as the two women keep attempting detailed moves then roll out or counter.. nothing note worthy. Carter looks to be going for a move off the top, however as she tries to climb she loses her footing and falls hard.

Green with several knees to the gut followed by a massive knee to the jaw. Green takes advantage of the moment and jumps on Carter for a pin. Stone looks on with a more prominent smile on his face now. Green hits a Camel Clutch in the center of the ring on Carter for the counter.

Green Slingshots Carter’s neck under the middle rope, then goes for another pin attempt. Carter once again kicks out. The women continue to go back and forth until Bianca Belair is suddenly in the ring with a mic.

Bianca begins, “Now girl, I done told you you don’t come here! Now you put your hands on me, I want you here! It don’t matter if it’s here or there…. Charlotte Flair, I’m gonna’ whoop that ass!”

With that, Belair leaves the ring and the match resumes just as quickly. Carter attempts a Schoolboy, Green kicks out at two. Carter then hits a Super-kick, Green rolls out of the ring so Carter cannot pin. Carter exits the ring and pushes Green back into the ring. As Carter tries to re-enter the ring,

Stone trips her up. Green uses the momentary interference to her advantage hitting The Un-prettier for the three count.
