Sasha Banks broke her title defense curse on last night’s episode of SmackDown.
Banks retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship in last night’s opening match by submitting Bayley with the Banks Statement. This was Bayley’s rematch for the title after losing it to Banks at Hell in a Cell.
But it didn’t take long for a new challenger to emerge. After her return had been hyped for weeks, Carmella appeared and attacked Banks on the stage.
The build to Survivor Series also continued with three qualifying matches taking place last night. Seth Rollins faced Otis, Rey Mysterio took on Baron Corbin, and Natalya, Zelina Vega, and Ruby Riott faced off in a triple threat match.
Kevin Owens and Jey Uso both qualified for Survivor Series last week. They faced each other in last night’s main event after Roman Reigns ordered Uso to handle their problems with Owens after Owens disrespected them.
